TEXTBOOK INFO
Professor Earnhart is assigning a single textbook for the Environmental Economics course that you need to purchase.

Environmental Economics: An Introduction, Barry C. Field and Martha K. Field, 2009, Fifth Edition, McGraw-Hill/Irwin, New York, NY.

NOTE: The assigned textbook is available at the KU Bookstore, but students are not obligated to buy the textbook from the KU Bookstore. You are also not required to purchase the fifth edition; if you find a cheaper fourth edition, the older edition is acceptable, but you will need to work a little bit more to locate assigned passages since the pagination differs between versions.

Professor White will be posting on Blackboard one or two chapters from another textbook that Professor Earnhart will be asking you to read for his course.

Additionally, Prof. White will have all of her required reading materials available via Blackboard, so there is only one textbook you need to buy for the program.

Business France Enrollment
You should plan on enrolling in the course(s) for your study abroad program in the FALL semester during your regular spring enrollment appointment scheduled in the Enroll & Pay system.

Use the Enrollment Form we provide that explains how to enroll in the course. This form is located in the "Material Submissions" section AND/OR in the "Application Instructions" section here in your OSA program account.

Business France Orientation
The School of Business and Office of Study Abroad provide a Business France-specific orientation in February. Students are NOT required to attend the main OSA orientation in December. Once the date/time of your program's orientation is set, you will receive an email with details from the School of Business and information will also be posted here as another announcement.
KU Orientation info for Vienna
Students on the Vienna program should ONLY come to the orientation session for their Germany program (Stuttgart, Karlsruhe or GDX).

Do NOT come to the morning summer orientation session, even if the system sends you a reminder indicating you should come to the morning session in April.

Academic Plan & Approval
Students only need to complete the Academic Plan & Approval for the elective courses in which they will enroll. The foundation courses and SPAN 340 are set equivalents and do not need approval.
Recommendation
Your language recommendation should be from a Portuguese instructor. If you haven't had any college-level Portuguese, a Spanish instructor's recommendation will work. If you haven't had any Spanish, ask any instructor and they can ignore the language questions.
Required recommendations
This program requires two recommendations. If you have never taken Spanish at KU, you should request two general recommendations. If you have taken Spanish at KU, you should request one general recommendation and one language recommendation. Please contact Mari Keyser if you have any questions.
