Program Description:

Funding your Study Abroad Program

KU Study Abroad can do personalized financial aid and scholarship advising for students.  Please visit 108 Lippincott Hall or call 785-864-3742 to set up an appointment.  KU students who qualify for financial aid in the form of Stafford and/or other loans, Federal Grants, and KU or outside scholarships may apply the aid to the cost of a Study Abroad Program.  
 
KU Study Abroad supplemental scholarships are available to KU degree seeking students. Applications are available online. The scholarship application deadline is March 1 for Summer and Fall and Academic Year programs and October 1 for Spring, Winter Break and Spring Break programs.

Business School Scholarship

Business students may be eligible for scholarships for this program. Students who have not previously received study abroad scholarships from the Business School will have priority for scholarship awards.  For more information and application instructions, visit: https://business.ku.edu/scholarships-study-abroad  

Application Procedures

All applicants will be required to complete several documents for each study abroad application.  Below is a list of documents that will need to be completed for an application.

  • Academic Plan and Approval Form
  • Authorization to Release Student Information
  • Autobiography
  • Financial Aid Questionnaire
  • Official Transcript
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Student Conduct Verification
  • Two General Recommendations
  • Verification of Minimum GPA Requirement

I thought that my program was very unique in offering a two week orientation at the start of the semester. This opportunity was extremely rewarding because we were giving numerous tours, two day trips in Austria, and several unique classes to further explore Vienna and Austria as a whole.

If you are on the fence about studying abroad- do it! I was apprehensive about participating because I was worried about leaving KU for a semester & missing out. I was able to learn a lot more about myself since I was forced to be extremely independent. I was able to make new friends from all over the world & I will forever be so thankful that I made the choice to study abroad.
