(Not sure I'm answering this question correctly, but) I learned that it can be quite an intense process to create an extensive form of art such as mokuhanga in such a short amount of time, and that it's normal to feel a bit overwhelmed as a result, but to not be too hard on yourself. The welcoming and friendly environment combined with people whose company I truly enjoyed helped ease the stress of the art-making process, and made it enjoyable overall.

The workshops are the most rewarding part of the trip, we were given the opportunities to make paper and prints by ourselves, which means a lot to me.

My favorite part of the program non-academically was the Kyoto leg of the trip, we got to see so many incredible sites in such a unique city. Academically, I really loved learning about how to make paper, and then the mokuhanga workshop at MiLab.
