Program Description:


Funding your Study Abroad Program

KU Study Abroad can do personalized financial aid and scholarship advising for students.  Please visit 108 Lippincott Hall or call 785-864-3742 to set up an appointment.  KU students who qualify for financial aid in the form of federal and/or other loans, federal grants, and KU or outside scholarships may apply the aid to the cost of a study abroad program.  
 
KU Study Abroad & Global Engagement Scholarships are available to KU degree-seeking students. Applications are available online. The scholarship application deadline is February 15 for Summer, March 1 for Fall and Academic Year programs, and October 1 for Spring, Winter Break, and Spring Break programs.

Application Procedures

All applicants will be required to complete several documents for each study abroad application.  Below is a list of documents that will need to be completed for an application.?

  • Academic Plan and Approval Form
  • Authorization to Release Student Information
  • Financial Aid Questionnaire
  • Official Transcript
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Student Conduct Verification
  • Two General Recommendations
  • Verification of Minimum GPA Requirement

Stirling, Scotland is absolutely incredible. My favorite part of the program was getting to meet people from ALL over the world and forming connections with all different people. This program allows you to go out of your comfort zone and form friendships with people from Scotland as well as other places.

I would advise future students to be aware that university works and functions so differently from the USA, and it will feel like you have a vast amount of free time with easy assignments, but there is very little room for error. Due to how the programs are set up you only showcase your knowledge on a few large assignments, making mistakes extremely costly

That transportation to and from campus is not ideal. The buses are not only unreliable but they also cost a lot of money. I ended up spending around $100 every month for just bus passes (not including trains and city to city busses that cost even more). Walking and biking ended up being the best way to commute from the town on to campus.
