The Felix Moos Fund for Field Studies Abroad provides scholarships or direct financial support for University of Kansas students who are performing field studies abroad for the academic year, semester, or summer. The primary goal of the recipient's research should be solving real-world human and social problems in different cultural systems.
One scholarship of $1,500-$2,500 will be awarded annually, with preference given to senior undergraduate students and graduate students. The deadline to apply is March 15.
Eligibility
Application Procedures
All applicants will be required to submit the following documents:
1. A research proposal with a summary of the applicant’s research project, including a description of the work to be carried out abroad and a timeline for travel and research. The proposal should also include information on the applicant’s preparation and qualifications to complete the proposed research and information on the impact of this research on the applicant’s achievement of their academic or career objectives.
2. Resume or CV
3. Unofficial transcript or advising report
Follow-Up Requirements
Project proposals will be shared with the donor. Recipients may be invited to meet with the donor or asked to provide a brief write-up of their research findings upon return from their international travels. Recipients are also expected to write a thank you letter.
