Program Description:


Funding your Study Abroad Program

KU Study Abroad can do personalized financial aid and scholarship advising for students.  Please visit 108 Lippincott Hall or call 785-864-3742 to set up an appointment.  KU students who qualify for financial aid in the form of federal and/or other loans, federal grants, and KU or outside scholarships may apply the aid to the cost of a study abroad program.  
 
KU Study Abroad & Global Engagement Scholarships are available to KU degree-seeking students. Applications are available online. The scholarship application deadline is February 15 for Summer, March 1 for Fall and Academic Year programs, and October 1 for Spring, Winter Break, and Spring Break programs.

Application Procedures

All applicants will be required to complete several documents for each study abroad application.  Below is a list of documents that will need to be completed for an application.

  • Authorization to Release Student Information
  • Financial Aid Questionnaire
  • One Recommendation
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Student Conduct Verification
  • Unofficial Transcript or Advising Report
  • Verification of Minimum GPA Requirement

My favorite part of the program was practicing my professional skills within the different culture of Bulgaria. Additionally, experiencing Bulgaria's beauty and the genuine friendliness and warmth of its people, especially our guide, made the entire trip memorable and welcoming. It was a special gift in my life along with a unique practice experience.

I learned very quickly how underrated and incredible Bulgaria is. My favorite city by far was Sofia, Bulgaria. Not only was it beautiful and rich with history, the people were so kind and willing to help us. It didn't feel "touristy" like Greece does and it really made it feel like a home. But all of Bulgaria was nothing like I expected. It was beautiful, serene, and breathtaking and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

One thing that I learned in this program is that everybody there is willing and able to help you. I was a first year student going into my second year, and I didn’t know much. This was my first hands on clinical experience, apart from observation. The staff and my fellow student therapists helped me grow and taught me new things.
