Program Description:

Get the internship that launches your career!
KU Study Abroad is proud to partner with CIEE to offer the Summer Global Internship program - an 8-week long, full-time internship opportunity open to all majors and in over 40 locations worldwide. Through a personalized placement process, CIEE staff will identify and match you with an employment opportunity in your area of interest, giving you the chance to develop skills and experience in your professional field while living abroad. Housing, airport pickups, and cultural excursions are provided by CIEE, and their faculty teach an internship course that accompanies the internship experience. If you've wanted to study abroad and also hoped for an internship before graduating, this is a great opportunity to do both.   

Funding your Study Abroad Program

KU Study Abroad can do personalized financial aid and scholarship advising for students.  Please visit 108 Lippincott Hall or call 785-864-3742 to set up an appointment.  KU students who qualify for financial aid in the form of federal and/or other loans, federal grants, and KU or outside scholarships may apply the aid to the cost of a study abroad program.  
 
KU Study Abroad & Global Engagement Scholarships are available to KU degree-seeking students. Applications are available online. The scholarship application deadline is February 15 for Summer, March 1 for Fall and Academic Year programs, and October 1 for Spring, Winter Break, and Spring Break programs.

I loved doing an internship abroad and I really enjoyed meeting peers from across the country. I used my weekends to travel, which was wonderful. I gained great professional experience and had so much fun.

I learned that it can be easier than people think. It seems to be daunting, but at the end of the day, it went by very fast. One of the things I learned when I was away is how blessed I am back home. It gives you an appreciation for what you have (Family and friends). I certainly will not take that for granted anymore.

Being able to intern at a food bank was very rewarding. I got to learn a lot about the specific social issues Singaporeans face on the daily, and I'm happy I got to help in some way.
