Program Description:


Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (ICCAE) Study Abroad Scholarship


The Kansas Consortium-Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (Kansas-ICCAE) is funded by a $1.5 million grant from the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).  The U.S. Intelligence Community requires a competitive, knowledgeable, and diverse workforce.  Kansas-ICCAE provides educational resources, support, and workplace and cultural experiences for students who wish to serve as qualified intelligence professionals to carry out the nation’s long-term national security initiatives.  Study abroad scholarships are available to KU ICCAE-affiliated students who are studying abroad in a subject area related to national intelligence initiatives. Preference will be given to study abroad programs which focus on critical languages of interest to the US Intelligence Community.

Scholarships are available for spring and summer 2020. 

Eligibility requirements:
  • Interest in pursuing a career in the U.S. Intelligence Community
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) submission for current academic year
  • U.S. Citizenship and eligible for a security clearance
  • KU student or a student at one of the KU ICCAE Consortium schools (Donnelly College, Seward County Community College, Dodge City Community College)
  • Affiliation with the KU ICCAE (ICCAE scholars are preferred but applications from students pursuing an INSS minor or certificate will be considered)

  • Scholarship Personal Statement essay addressing your interest in studying abroad and how your program of interest applies to the intelligence community and your future career goals.
