Program Description:

Allan W. Wicker and Edna Elnar-Wicker Study Abroad Scholarship

SIT: School of International Training Study Abroad offers semester study abroad programs in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, as well as the International Honors Program.  By utilizing a field-based experiential approach to education, these programs offer a unique academic environment to KU students.  Programs in all destinations offer undergraduate research through an Independent Study Project and cultural immersion through fieldwork, language classes, and urban and rural homestays with local families.

Allan W. Wicker and Edna Elnar-Wicker created the Wicker Scholarship to assist undergraduate KU students with demonstrated financial need or high academic merit to participate in semester-long, single country study abroad programs through SIT in conjunction with the University of Kansas’ Study Abroad & Global Engagement.  Eligible students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and have applied to an eligible SIT program.  One $11,000 scholarship will be awarded annually.  Deadline to apply for the Academic Year scholarship cycle is March 1 for Fall, or Spring term programs.
