IMPORTANT DATE INFORMATION: The start date is the on-site arrival date. Students will need to depart the U.S. on 1/15/20. The end date is the day after the end of the exam period for students who enroll in local universities. The schedule for final exams will be available after enrollment and students may finish earlier. Students who enroll only in IES Abroad Center courses will have an end date of May 1, 2020. All students will depart IES Abroad housing on the day after their last final exam. Because each student’s exact end date will be unknown until after enrollment, it is recommended that students purchase airline tickets with open-ended or flexible return date policies if they think they may want to change their return date after enrollment.

Molly K Bollman, Spring 2017 Participant
My favorite part was that I was able to meet so many KU students as well as students from other universities in the US. I also loved living with a host family because it was complete immersion with the language and culture.
Selena Fierro, Spring 2018 Participant
My favorite part of the program was staying with a host family. It was an amazing experience to be able to stay with a Spanish family. I was able to learn a lot about the Spanish culture from them, as well as eating common Spanish dishes.
Trang T Nguyen, Spring 2017 Participant
I was proud of myself for greatly improving my Spanish. I became more comfortable making mistakes and immersing myself in the language.
