Each year several Krehbiel Scholarships are awarded to KU students participating on the German Summer Language Institute study abroad programs in Eutin and Holzkirchen, Germany. These scholarships are made possible through the generous contributions of Carl C. Krehbiel who particpated in the Holzkirchen program in 1968.
One of the scholarships is awarded annually in memory of the late KU alumnus L. Neil Slentz, who was also a participant in the Holzkirchen program in 1968.
For more information on Carl C. Krehbiel and the story behind the scholarship, visit:

Scholarship awards are up to $4,000.
Applications are encouraged from KU degree-seeking students who have applied to the Eutin or Holzkirchen programs.
Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.
Scholarship application deadline is March 1.
All applicants will be required to submit the following documents. Applicants who have not begun an application for a study abroad program will not be eligible for the scholarship.
