Program Description:

Funding your Study Abroad Program

KU Study Abroad can do personalized financial aid and scholarship advising for students.  Please visit 108 Lippincott Hall or call 785-864-3742 to set up an appointment.  KU students who qualify for financial aid in the form of Stafford and/or other loans, Federal Grants, and KU or outside scholarships may apply the aid to the cost of a study abroad program.  
 
KU Study Abroad supplemental scholarships are available to KU degree seeking students. Applications are available online. The scholarship application deadline is March 1 for Summer, March 15th for Fall and Academic Year programs and October 1 for Spring, Winter Break and Spring Break programs.

Application Procedures

All applicants will be required to complete several documents for each study abroad application.  Below is a list of documents that will need to be completed for an application.  
 

  • Authorization to Release Student Information
  • Financial Aid Questionnaire
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Student Conduct Verification
  • Unofficial Transcript or Advising Report
  • Verification of Minimum GPA Requirement

Winter Break 2024 Participant
There are a great deal of cultural aspects that affect how we as architects design buildings. On this trip, it was interesting to see how Japanese and Korean culture affected the layout and appearance of the buildings we visited. As a student, you can see architectural design through a new lens.

Winter Break 2026 Participant
The most rewarding part of this program was all of the architecture we were able to see. We had three weeks of a fully loaded schedule and although it was tiring somedays, we were able to see much of each country. I also enjoyed that our professors encouraged us to go out of comfort zone and try different activities and foods.

The professors really made sure our trip was worthwhile, giving us plenty of time at each architectural spot, having us try new foods, and encouraging us to go off and explore on our own too!
