Program Description:

Funding your Study Abroad Program

KU Study Abroad can do personalized financial aid and scholarship advising for students.  Please visit 108 Lippincott Hall or call 785-864-3742 to set up an appointment.  KU students who qualify for financial aid in the form of Stafford and/or other loans, Federal Grants, and KU or outside scholarships may apply the aid to the cost of a study abroad program.  
 
KU Study Abroad supplemental scholarships are available to KU degree seeking students. Applications are available online. The scholarship application deadline is March 1 for Summer, March 15th for Fall and Academic Year programs and October 1 for Spring, Winter Break and Spring Break programs.

Application Procedures

All applicants will be required to complete several documents for each study abroad application.  Below is a list of documents that will need to be completed for an application.  
 

  • Authorization to Release Student Information
  • Financial Aid Questionnaire
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Student Conduct Verification
  • Unofficial Transcript or Advising Report
  • Verification of Minimum GPA Requirement

Winter Break 2024 Participant
My favorite part of this program was visiting a variety of buildings from traditional architecture to contemporary. Kyoto may have been the best location for witnessing traditional buildings in proximity to modern additions.

The exposure to different design techniques and architectural language may have been the most rewarding aspect of this trip. Having the ability to see technological and architectural advancements applied to the buildings we visited on this trip allowed me to visualize architecture in a new and exciting way.

The professors really made sure our trip was worthwhile, giving us plenty of time at each architectural spot, having us try new foods, and encouraging us to go off and explore on our own too!
