Application Procedures

The School of Architecture will communicate with interested students directly regarding the initial application process and deadlines.

Portfolios of student work are required to apply for the program and will be submitted to the architecture firms. Internship assignments will be made on the basis of submitted portfolios and the decision of the program faculty.

Once selected by the School of Architecture, participants will receive instructions for completing a registration through the KU Office of Study Abroad.

Important Note about Passports & Visas

Please note that a student visa is required for this program.  The KU Office of Study Abroad will provide you with instructions for how to apply for a visa once you are accepted to the program.  You must have a passport in order to apply for a visa and it must be valid for at least 3 months past the program end date and have at least two blank visa pages left in it.  If you do not already have a passport, or if your passport does not meet these requirements, it is recommended that you begin the application or renewal process now.  Information about how to apply for a passport can be found at http://international.ku.edu/passport/

Program Reviews:
Jared John Pechauer, Fall 2015 Participant
The most rewarding parts were working in an architecture office there, and becoming part of the working/business culture of Paris. You really feel like you are a part of the city when you work in it. It is much different than just studying abroad. It makes you feel that, although you are not Parisian, you are also not just a tourist anymore.

Fall 2016 Participant
The most rewarding part was to see how much I have grown and how my thoughts about the world have changed.

Fall 2015 Participant
Take french before coming. 100% take as many courses as you can. You will get so much more out of the experience if you can speak French.
