Program Reviews:
Dustin Howard Meyers, Academic Year 2013 Participant
I felt most rewarded by the understanding of other cultures I received from the life-long friends I made. I'm happy to have some of these people in my life now, and through meeting these people from "exotic" cultures and countries, whom I had never seen or really heard about before. These people also really helped me to understand who I am as a person and what I want to do with my life.

Connor J Remboldt, Fall 2017 Participant
I found renewal while traveling abroad. I don't mean to sound ethereal here but going abroad for a semester abroad is a refreshing new start that I think anyone can appreciate. No one knows you in the new place you visit, so you're truly allowed to 'be yourself,' and in this way I think it can really boost your self identity and confidence. The introspective aspect of the study abroad experience really granted me an insight to who I am as a person and allowed me to reform and reinforce positively. The exchange community is also wonderful as well. In Finland, all of the exchange students lived in a few close apartment buildings, which let us create a warm and welcoming environment away from home, where we could spend time with each other hanging out, partying, or have community meals together.

Connor J Remboldt, Fall 2017 Participant
For me, exploration was the best part of my study abroad experience. Whether it's a trip across town or a weeklong excursion to a neighboring region, you're bound to find something unexpected and exciting waiting for you there. In Finland, forests are easy access, even when living in the middle of the city and within 5 minutes you can be completely surrounded by nature and picking blueberries for an afternoon hike. This sounds like an exaggeration but Finnish cities are planned this way, with numerous walking trails to explore.
