Spring 2025 Participant
Studying abroad as a whole is one of the most life-changing rewarding experiences you can choose to participate in during your time in college! Studying abroad provided me with the opportunity to learn and understand a wide variety of cultures and perspectives. My time at the University of Reading broadened my understanding of the world around me. I have a deeper understanding of the UK as well as other countries, world issues and views, and perspectives from different parts of the world. Meeting other international students, traveling and meeting students in Reading completely opened my eyes to the world around me. I was able to learn customs and daily differences in the lives of people across the world. I was able to learn more about the stereotypes that I've been brought up on and how wrong and generalizing they are. I was able to connect with people across the world and learn more about our similarities and small differences! As a person I have grown significantly, I am more open and understanding, and interested in learning about domestic and international issues, and well equipped to assist in solving them. I have greatly improved my horizons and capacity by stepping out of my comfort zone and seeing what is possible not just at home, but worldwide.

Spring 2025 Participant
My favorite part of studying abroad at the University of Reading was meeting other international students through the study abroad program at Reading. The University of Reading has an amazing orientation week, and perfect opportunities to take trips within England with other international students. The program is full of support, especially in helping with the transition to life abroad and culture shock. I would highly recommend considering studying abroad at the University of Reading. Anywhere you pick will be an amazing experience, but the University of Reading provides a supportive and welcoming environment to improve your transition to life abroad!

I found it incredibly rewarding to experience not just one new culture and perspective, but many. Spending time internationally allowed me to expand my worldview.
