Program Description:


Funding your Study Abroad Program

KU Study Abroad can do personalized financial aid and scholarship advising for students.  Please visit 108 Lippincott Hall or call 785-864-3742 to set up an appointment.  KU students who qualify for financial aid in the form of Stafford and/or other loans, Federal Grants, and KU or outside scholarships may apply the aid to the cost of a study abroad program.  
 
KU Study Abroad supplemental scholarships are available to KU degree seeking students. Applications are available online. The scholarship application deadline is March 1 for Summer, March 15th for Fall and Academic Year programs and October 1 for Spring, Winter Break and Spring Break programs.

Application Procedures

All applicants will be required to complete several documents for each study abroad application.  Below is a list of documents that will need to be completed for an application.

  • Academic Plan and Approval Form
  • Authorization to Release Student Information
  • Financial Aid Questionnaire
  • Official Transcript
  • Portfolio CD (Statement of Purpose, Portfolio of Design Work, Resume)
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Student Conduct Verification
  • Two General Recommendations
  • Verification of Minimum GPA Requirement

I found the community of studying abroad most rewarding, you never feel alone as you always have someone (whether abroad or at KU) that has your best interests in mind.

I learned that you need to be open to absolutely anything if you want to gain experience in life. Even though something may not be within your comfort zone or interest you at the time, it is almost always worth trying out.

The location of the program was ideal. Being in Australia, there is a lot to do and see. The location was just a train ride from Sydney, cheap flights from popular destinations, and a very, very short walk to the beach. The location made the program much more enjoyable.
