I think the most rewarding part of this trip was having the chance to speak with people I will likely work with in the future when I start my career with EY.

I quite enjoyed the connections we made with professionals at the various firms we visited. Hearing their stories really reaffirmed the global nature of our practice and our career field, and I am better equipped to return to my job post-graduation having observed public accounting operations overseas.

I think you have to be ready to go with the flow and not follow a strict time schedule like Americans usually do. Indian people are very proud of their work and they want to tell and show you everything!

I learned so much about what outsourcing has meant to the accounting world, both in the past and the present. Being able to understand outsourcing as a student by visiting the offices where it happens is so much more educational and concrete than the understanding I happened to piece together during my internships.

Know that the days in India will be long, but they are so worth it! You'll come out of this program feeling like you're ahead of your peers because the offshoring work happening in India is so prevalent in the world of accounting- and its only growing. You'll see and do incredible things that you can apply to both your accounting and business ventures and your personal life.
