WHU has a strong exchange student community. They make sure students have plenty of opportunities to connect and build friendships with the local students as well as other exchange students.

I learned that it's actually a good idea to study abroad in a smaller city because when you're there you're focused on school and making friends, and when you want to have fun exclusively then you can go travel.

Talk to everyone you get the chance to! Give yourself time and space to adjust while maintaining an active schedule.
