My favorite part of my program was the balance between learning and traveling. I felt like I was able to make the most of my time in Scotland while still learning.

I loved the Media and Culture in Scotland program!! Scotland is so much fun and has such a rich culture and history. The people of Scotland have so much pride for their country, and I understand why after being there! The program allows for a lot of free time to explore the country on your own which I really appreciated.

My favorite part of this program was actually living on campus at the University of Stirling. It made it easy to become accustomed to the new atmosphere and meet new friends quickly. The university's International Summer School program does a great job of organizing social events and trips that allow students to experience Scotland and its unique culture safely. Living on campus kept us focused on our school work as they provided resources such as the library and resource center, to name a few.

My favorite part of the program was getting to see so many different places throughout Scotland. I really enjoyed getting to see St. Andrews since I am a big golf fan and I have always wanted to see it.

This program pushed me past my comfort zone and made me a better reporter because I was able to talk to and interview so many incredible people.

The parts of the program that I found most rewarding were that it made me get out there and talk to locals and learn more about Scotland and the culture there, especially around sports. I am more of an introverted person, but having to go interview people for my stories was always a great experience and everyone wanted to help as best they could. I really feel the program helped me grow as a journalist.

Having the opportunity to live in a foreign country for a whole month is rewarding in and of itself. By the last week, I was able to navigate town and the bus system without using maps, which was rewarding for me. Learning how to travel by public transportation was difficult, but certainly doable with time.

Buy the souvenir, take the weekend trip, eat the croissant. These are opportunities you will likely never have again. Money comes back around; your time abroad does not.
