My favorite part of this program was learning to balance school and my internship. I loved how independent I was forced to be. Something specific to the internship that I loved was that my classes were in the city of London but then my internship was in Chigwell, which was far out of the city, this was nice because I was able to see the city and the countryside.

I really enjoyed being able to navigate a new city in a new country. It was difficult getting oriented in my first two weeks as I was trying to figure out transportation routes and different modes of transportation, but through trial and error, I was able to pull through and become very well acquainted with London. I felt like a local once I got more comfortable and was even able to show my family around the city when they came up for a visit!

I liked the excursions that CAPA planned for us the most. They were a great way to get out and explore different parts of the city and have experiences that I might not have done otherwise. Plus, the planning and payment was already done by the program so it was stress free on my part!

This was my first experience traveling alone and also my first experience in a new country. Everything about it was daunting and scary at first, but it really is a great opportunity to get outside of your comfort zone. Even if your internship or studies aren't exactly what you end up doing in life, you are gaining life skills and experiences that are humbling and priceless. You'll gain resiliency, adaptability, and have a hard work ethic at the end of your experience.
