My favorite part of this program was being able to integrate as much as possible into the culture and lifestyle of the city.

I most enjoyed living and working in Paris and getting a very immersive experience.

My favorite part of the program was making connections with the people I work with. Sometimes while living abroad, it is hard to make local friends. Working is a great opportunity to get to know local people, and also a great way to learn how different cultures treat the same profession.

I loved living in Paris.

What I enjoyed the most was being able to live in a big city and the day to day tasks that we usually take for granted in our home country.

My favorite part was getting to live like a French person, in a non touristy area, going to the bakery frequently, commuting on the metro, and enjoying cafe culture.

I think interning at an architecture firm where I felt like an included member of their team, and less of a tourist or outsider, was the most rewarding part.

I felt a gained a great deal of work experience at my firm. I was given the opportunity to fill a variety of roles in the firm, which at times was very intimidating, but ended up pushing me in a very productive way. I feel like a much better designer after my experience.

The most rewarding parts were working in an architecture office there, and becoming part of the working/business culture of Paris. You really feel like you are a part of the city when you work in it. It is much different than just studying abroad. It makes you feel that, although you are not Parisian, you are also not just a tourist anymore.

Fall 2015 Participant
Working at a high design architecture office was the most rewarding aspect.

Fall 2016 Participant
The most rewarding part was to see how much I have grown and how my thoughts about the world have changed.

Fall 2017 Participant
The most rewarding part of this experience was the internship. I learned so much and was able to contribute a lot during the course of the job, and really felt like part of the team

Try to learn French before you go. Take a class.

It would benefit students to take a French language program prior to going. Even though most people are able to speak enough English to communicate, it's very difficult to engage with people when you only know a limited amount of the language.

It is very easy to get by just knowing English, but it is much more fun if you know French. My boss would often speak in French when speaking to the whole group, and I was expected to just figure it out. You will also make much more friends if you can at least understand basic French.

Take french before coming. 100% take as many courses as you can. You will get so much more out of the experience if you can speak French.

I learned to be observant in every aspect of your experience. That means not only being aware of your surroundings, but to analyze them and the people around you. You will learn more this way, but it is also important for your safety when living in a big city in these times. I would also say, just be smart, its not that difficult. Use common sense and trust your gut. Don't overthink things. When traveling you must remember that things are designed so that someone with good common sense can figure it out. Its not a puzzle, and its not difficult. Use your head.

I learned to feel comfortable when I am "out of my comfort zone".
