My favorite part of the program at the University of Kent was how easy it was to get involved with clubs and societies. It provided a great way to meet people and go see parts of the country for cheap that otherwise I would have not had the opportunity to see.

Lauren Lyon Hoerner, Academic Year 2013 Participant
My favorite part of this program was the sheer cultural diversity at Kent. I had a very international house, with students from all over, and a significant portion of students in all my classes were studying abroad just like me. Despite our different upbringings, it gave us something to bond over while we also shared quirks from our own cultures.

It seems crazy, but in just 4 and a half months I made life-long friends that I will eventually see again. My travel experiences were beyond wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better study abroad experience.

Lindsey Noel Roesti, Spring 2013 Participant
My favorite part of my learning abroad program was making friends at my school abroad, learning about their culture and lifestyle, and traveling with them.

Academic Year 2016 Participant
My favorite part of living abroad is all of the traveling and the friendships that I made while abroad. I'm still in contact with a couple of people I met while abroad and I will be able to take all of the magnificent experiences with me to look back on throughout my life. There was so much to see and do. I will miss it a lot.

Grace E Carlson, Spring 2017 Participant
My favorite part of this program was meeting international students from all around the world. One in four Kent students is international, and it was so great to make friends from all over.

Fall 2018 Participant
My favorite part of studying at Kent Uni was the amazing clubs that were available.

Getting to travel to different countries and experience once in a lifetime memories that I will hold with me forever was my favorite part of my experience abroad.

I found the academics to be most rewarding. I studied art history and my classes took field trips to the National Gallery in London to see paintings and works of art that I had only read about in textbooks. The professors were all great, and I really valued what I learned this semester.

I learned not to take my hometown, home state, and home country for granted. When traveling to foreign countries you will encounter things you may have never seen before. You will be uncomfortable sometimes. Not everything is always going to go smoothly. However, those are the things that make traveling worthwhile. Encountering something different or difficult and overcoming those challenges is extremely rewarding, especially when in a foreign country.

Canterbury is a very picturesque town and I loved it, but to travel anywhere you really have to go to London. I traveled every weekend, mostly internationally, and the 3 hour trip to the airport twice a week got old pretty fast. I am glad that I did this program, but the travel time to get anywhere is something I wish I would have known before going.
