My favorite part of this program was the wide availability and ease of cultural experiences in Hong Kong. Not to mention that if I wanted to I could go and experience many of them by myself since english is widely spoken there. Hong Kong is an amazing city!

I had the privilege to work with an group of students from Germany, Norway, Uruguay, and from California's UC Irvine on social entrepreneurship and social business projects throughout my semester at HKU. Working with these guys was the most challenging, terrifying, thing I've done - it was also a wake up call to what the rest of the world is working like and how I should work to keep up, both in school and professionally.

Traveling around southeast Asia and experiencing the most beautiful beaches in the world, great food, and excellent conversation from good company was nice too.

My favorite part of this experience was getting to meet some many people from all over the world while experiencing a totally new environment.

Learning about a new culture, and being immersed in a new environment! I also loved being able to truly live on my own and figure things out by myself, but with people I know could help me if I truly needed them in the background.

I loved getting to be so immersed in the business-side of Hong Kong and Asia. Being a business major I think this was best place that I could have been to really learn from some amazing Professors and professionals on what Business is like in this area and how we could take so many things back to the US.

Hiking was definitely my favorite part of this program because I was able to talk to local students while enjoying some the most amazing views I have ever seen. I would highly encourage anyone studying at HKU to join the hiking club or at least go with some locals.

I found the first few weeks the most rewarding because HKU provided activities for exchange students to meet which was a great way to emerge into the school.

The culture and Hong Kong as a city are absolutely stunning. There is so much variation. It is an amazing place. The university is great and for the most part, the people are interesting and helpful.

If you want your class credit to transfer then you really need to take the classes seriously. They take off after reading week. Other than that, a prospective student should just learn how to use the MTR as fast as possible then everything else will just fall in place. You'll never feel lost if you can use the MTR.

Be prepared to adapt to different study habits, class structure, and tougher exams. It is nothing that cannot be done, but it varies from home quite a bit.

That to truly grow and learn you need to push the boundaries of what you believe you are capable of. I didn't think I'd be able to handle several months on my own in a foreign country when I'd only left the U.S. once before, for a week-long cruise. However here I am and I've grown considerably because I chose to challenge what I felt I was capable of.
