Program Description:

As a Global Scholar, Mackenzie Aden (‘18 cohort) traveled abroad for the first time. Grateful for the opportunity, and especially for a scholarship from the University of Kansas, Aden has established an award to support those currently in the KU Global Scholars Program. Any Global Scholar who has applied to participate in an international academic year, semester, winter break, or summer study, internship, or research abroad program for which they will earn credit through KU or another accredited institution is eligible to be considered for this scholarship.

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually. The deadline to apply is March 15.

Eligibility

Degree-seeking KU undergraduate
Active member of KU Global Scholars Program
Started application through KU Study Abroad & Global Engagement for credit-bearing study abroad program

Application Procedures

All applicants will be required to submit the following documents:

A scholarship personal statement in which the applicant details why they have chosen to study, intern, or conduct research abroad; how their particular program will aid them in achieving their academic and career goals; and how international travel will enhance their experience as a KU Global Scholar
Resume or CV
Unofficial transcript or advising report

Follow-Up Requirements
All scholarship recipients will be expected to do a brief write-up of their experience abroad, preferably including photos, to share with the Global Scholars Program and the scholarship donor. Recipients are also expected to write a thank you letter.
