The SIT: School of International Training Study Abroad offers semester-long study abroad programs in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, as well as the International Honors Program. By utilizing a field-based experiential approach to education, these programs offer a unique academic environment for University of Kansas students. Programs in all destinations offer undergraduate research through an independent study project and cultural immersion through fieldwork, language classes, and urban and rural homestays with local families.

Allan W. Wicker and Edna Elnar-Wicker created the Wicker Scholarship to assist undergraduate KU students with demonstrated financial need or high academic merit to participate in semester-long, single-country study abroad programs through SIT in conjunction with KU Study Abroad & Global Engagement.
