The Peter Gilles Springer Fellowship for Study in France is an annual award to support an outstanding graduate student from the following disciplines: French, History, or Political Science. The fellowship shall be used for the student’s studies or research, in France only, and awards are based on both need and merit. The award amount for the summer or academic year will range from $1,500.00 to $2,500.00
Any Master’s or Ph.D. student from the departments of French, History, or Political Science who will be studying or conducting research in France during the summer or academic year. Please note that you must show that you have financial need by submitting the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the academic year you will be going abroad. Students must be enrolled and receive credit for their time abroad. Summer students must be enrolled in at least 1 credit hour during the summer term. Applicants should also meet with KU Study Abroad and complete the Study Abroad SIP: Student Initiated Program - Research application.
