Program Description:

Funds for the Korea University Study Abroad Scholarship are provided with the generous support of Richard Paegelow, a University of Kansas study abroad alumnus. This scholarship is open to degree-seeking KU undergraduate students to study at Korea University for a semester or year through KU Study Abroad & Global Engagement. Recipients must have successfully completed at least one semester of Korean language at KU prior to the study abroad program and enroll in one or more Korean language courses while at Korea University. For Spring '26, the award amount will be $5,000.  

The deadline to apply is October 1 for Spring programs.

Eligibility

  • Degree-seeking KU undergraduate
  • Completed Korean language course(s) at KU
  • Started application through KU Study Abroad & Global Engagement for the Korea University study abroad program

Application Procedures

All applicants will be required to submit the following documents:
 
  • A scholarship essay in which the applicant describes their study abroad program and why they would like to be awarded the scholarship
  • Unofficial transcript or advising report

Follow-Up Requirement
Scholarship recipients are expected to write a thank you letter.
