Online Application Instructions

In order to apply for the exchange program at the University of Kansas (KU), you must first be nominated by your home university. After being nominated by your home institution to take part in the exchange program at KU, you will receive an email from the Study Abroad & Global Engagement office with instructions on how to apply. Please follow the instructions very carefully.

The first step is to apply to the University of Kansas Exchange Program and create your account in the JayhawksAbroad portal by clicking on the "Apply Now" button on this page. Follow these steps to create your account and log in:
  • Click “I am a new user and do not have login credentials to this site (Non-KU students first time log in only).”
  • Complete the New User Form and then click “Create Account.” Please use your email address at your home university as your username.
  •  An email will be sent to you with your temporary password which is valid for 5 days. Click on the link provided to reset your password. After doing this, you should be logged in. You will be prompted to create an application for the term that you are applying for and then enter your address and emergency contacts. 
  • Click on the “University of Kansas Exchange Program” link in order to access the Program Application Page (Pre-Decision). From this page, please upload a photo of yourself (for internal use only) so that we can easily identify you.

The second step is to apply to the University of Kansas. Instructions for how to do that will be linked in your Study Abroad application page in JayhawksAbroad.
