Program Description:
The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences is pleased to provide scholarships of up to $2,000 to support student participation in study abroad programs. To be eligible for CLAS scholarships, students must:
Be pursuing a degree in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (students only pursuing a minor or certificate program are not eligible to apply);
Be in good academic standing;
Have started a KU study abroad application online. Students on Student Initiated Programs (SIPs) must have applied to their program and started an online KU Study Abroad SIP application.
The College offers both academic merit and financial need scholarships.
Academic Merit Scholarships are competitive and are awarded on the basis of academic merit as determined by a student's cumulative KU GPA.
Financial Need Scholarships are competitive and are awarded based on financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid-FAFSA submitted for the current academic year.
In order to be eligible for the scholarship you must complete the application requirements by the deadlines (October 1st for Spring, Winter Break and Spring Break programs; April 1st for Summer, April 15th for Fall and Academic Year programs). Once complete, your application will be sent to the scholarship committee for review. Scholarship notification will occur in mid April for Summer, late April for Fall and Academic Year programs, and late October for Spring, Winter Break and Spring Break programs.
