Program Description:


Funding your Study Abroad Program

KU Study Abroad can do personalized financial aid and scholarship advising for students. Book a virtual appointment.  KU students who qualify for financial aid in the form of Stafford and/or other loans, Federal Grants, and KU or outside scholarships may apply the aid to the cost of a study abroad program.  
 
KU Study Abroad supplemental scholarships are available to KU degree seeking students. Applications are available online. The scholarship application deadline is March 1 for Summer, March 15th for Fall and Academic Year programs and October 1 for Spring, Winter Break and Spring Break programs.

Application Procedures

All applicants will be required to complete several documents for each study abroad application.  Below is a list of documents that will need to be completed for an application.
 
        a. Verification of Minimum GPA Requirement
        b. Student Conduct Verification
        c. Authorization to Release Student Information
        d. Financial Aid Questionnaire
        e. Statement of Purpose
        f.  Unofficial Transcript or Advising Report
        g.  One Recommendation

Ask the physicians any questions you have at appropriate times. This culture is different from America, but remember, it only lasts for a small amount of time. Try new things, but be cautious and safe.

I learned that it is very important to accept people for who they are as a whole. It is important to try and understand that everyone has a different background than you and people grow up in different settings. I learned not only from the doctors but also from the people who lived in the city. We learned and heard my stories about different types of people and that made the experience that much better because you were surrounded by strangers who made you feel comfortable.

My favorite part of this program was being able to witness numerous types of specialties within the hospital. While not all doctors spoke the best english, they did their best to translate and explain things thoroughly. The culture and experience this program offers was fascinating.
