Program Description:

Felix Moos Fund for Field Studies Abroad 

This fund shall be used to provide scholarships or direct financial support for University of Kansas students performing field studies abroad, with the primary goal of solving real-world human and social problems in different cultural systems.

 
Eligibility

One non-renewable award of $1,500 - $2,500 will be given to a KU student who will be conducting research abroad during the summer, semester, or academic year. Preference shall be given to senior undergraduate and graduate students in the social sciences who are citizens of the United States and are committed to developing cultural and linguistic fluencies.

Application Procedures

All applicants will be required to submit the following documents online:

  • Felix Moos Fund Research Proposal. The proposal should include a summary of your research project, a description of the work to be carried out abroad and a timeline for travel/research, information on your preparation/qualifications to complete this research, and information on the impact of this research on achievement of your academic or career objectives.
  • Resume or CV
  • Unofficial Transcript or Advising Report
Applicants applying for funds to support international research during the Academic Year, Fall, or Spring terms should apply under the "Academic Year 2024-25" cycle.

Project proposals will be shared with the donor. Recipients may be invited to meet with the donor or asked to provide a brief write-up of their research findings upon return from their international travels.
